Giovanni Innella, designer, and Marco Petroni, design theorist and critic, present their latest book, Il design e il suo doppio (Design and its Double), published by Postmedia Books, moderated by Fabiana Marotta, PhD, Postdoc research fellowship (UniNa).

This book is an attempt to answer the question of what the double of a discipline or action might be or represent in the world we can define as design, project, desire for transformation. It is a way of exploring a poetics, a way of being a designer in 2025. To give concrete form to this existential and operational mode of forming subjectivity, we chose, we thought, we traversed the production, design, and being of Giovanni Innella, simply a designer of our strange times, a case, a prototype, an archetype in crisis and radical transformation. Criticism, education, care, the possible to attempt and the impossible to clash with are the path to be traced, and once again to try the crossing, to be inside and outside at the same time. To be in the project but also in its double.
